5 Fashion Trends that Crossed Over to Interiors

Decorex  - the leading interiors trade show - is an essential event for those who want to view the finest collections, gain inspiration from key players in the industry, and source one-off, luxury products.

Fashion has always influenced the way we decorate our houses. So it wasn`t surprising to see five key fashion trends crossing over to interior design, during the latest Decorex exhibition, which just closed its doors to visitors at the end of September.
Silver lining
Precious metal colours are trending equally well in fashion, and in interiors. These armchair frames make a strong style statement, but – in my opinion – won`t be to everybody`s taste. I am wearing a dress from Marni, and a gilet from Ducie. My handbag is by Anya Hindmarch, and I bought my shoes in Singapore.
Gold and silver door handles anyone?

Floral tribute

Plenty of foliage on the catwalk, and these glass orchids are just stunning!

Colour blocking
This is yet another current fashion trend that translates very effectively into interiors.

Lavish finishes

Embellished tops and rich trimmings inspired interior designers to raise their game and offer semi-precious stones, elaborate paint finishes, and delightful eclectibles to zhuzh up any room.

Let there be light

Shiny, metallic dresses lit up many catwalks and spectacular light pieces were everywhere at Decorex 2015.
